Alvise Vianello is an Associate Professor at Aalborg University, Denmark. He specializes in analytical techniques (FTIR, µFTIR, µRaman, Pyrolysis-GCMS) to characterize micro- and nanoplastics in complex matrices. His research spans marine, freshwater, and atmospheric environments, including expeditions from the Atlantic and Arctic to the tropics.
In parallel, he studies synthetic particles in indoor environments and broader human exposure to micro- and nanoplastics. His work combines environmental monitoring and method development to improve analytical capabilities and understanding of micro- and nanoplastic fate and exposure pathways.
