Francesco Picchioni (born in Terni, Italy, in 1971) got his MSc (1996) and PhD (2000) degrees in Polymer Science at the University of Pisa (Italy). After a PostDoc at the Technical University of Eindhoven (2000-2002, The Netherlands), he joined the University of Groningen (The Netherlands) first as Assistant- (2003-2008), later as Associate- (2008-2013) and Full-Professor (2014-now). He is the chair of the Product Technology group and his current research interests are generally related to polymer processing and modification, in particular related to sustainability and recycling.
